Core Principles of the Communitarian State

Subsidiarity

Power and responsibility should sit as close to the community as possible. National institutions act as stewards, not central controllers.

Belonging and Communal Relationship

Citizenship is a covenant — a bond of mutual loyalty, shared duty, and intergenerational membership in the national community.

Intergenerational Trusteeship

Policy must serve:

  • the living
  • the dead (heritage, continuity)
  • the unborn (future stewardship)
  • and the land itself

This is the moral horizon for my political system.

Long-Termism

Institutions must be insulated from short-term political expediency. The state is a guardian of continuity, not a machine for electoral cycles.

A Monarchical Civic Republic

Whether we keep a monarchy is a matter for the British People. In our vision, monarchy becomes a symbolic steward of our natural and communal heritage while sovereignty vests in the people. Feudal concepts are removed; continuity is preserved.

Distributionism

Economic power should be widely dispersed: small and mid-scale enterprises, cooperatives, family businesses, artisans, and local ownership.

Economic Nationalism

We must have a domestic, native owned stable supply of energy, industrial materials and foodstuffs necessary for national survival.

Meritocracy

Opportunity is based on contribution, character, and ability — not inherited privilege or class.

Diversity-in-Unity

Pluralism is welcomed within a shared civic framework. Local cultures flourish inside a common constitutional identity.

A Moral Floor: Prevention of Destitution

No citizen should fall into degrading conditions like:

  • rough sleeping
  • childhood malnutrition
  • unsafe or unfit housing

This is not welfare paternalism — it is the ethical expression of belonging.

Special Obligations to Veterans and Key Workers

Those who serve the community, whether in uniform, in hospitals, in classrooms, or during emergencies, to be given priority support. This is a matter of civic reciprocity.

🏥 2. Public Health

A decentralized, preventative, community-rooted system.

  • Local health boards with real authority.
  • Public health framed as mutual care.
  • Guaranteed access to nutrition for children.
  • Mental health support prioritized for veterans and emergency workers.
  • Community clinics and cooperatives encouraged.

Destitution link: No one falls through the cracks into rough sleeping or untreated illness.

🎓 3. Education

  • Civic education emphasizing duty, continuity, and stewardship.
  • Support for native languages and cultural traditions.
  • Ensuring high standards with equal prestige given to vocational courses and artisan skills
  • Expecting high levels of professionalism from educators and rewarding educators appropriately.

Destitution link: No child goes hungry; no child grows up in unfit housing.

🏘️ 4. Social Welfare

  • Local administration with community oversight.
  • Welfare as reciprocal: support when needed, contribution when able.
  • Early intervention to prevent generational poverty.
  • Special support pathways for veterans and key workers.

Destitution link: A guaranteed civic minimum of dignity.

🏠 5. Housing

Stability, dignity, and community continuity.

  • Minimum national housing standards: dry, insulated, safe.
  • Local authorities empowered to enforce and build.
  • Community land trusts and cooperatives encouraged.
  • Priority access for veterans, nurses, teachers, and emergency workers.
  • Zero tolerance for rough sleeping.

Destitution link: Housing is a civic right tied to belonging.

Stewardship as civic duty.

  • Community ownership of renewable infrastructure.
  • Environmental protection framed as loyalty to the land.

Destitution link: Warm, safe homes for all citizens.

  • Support for SMEs, artisans, cooperatives, and family businesses
  • Tax incentives and rates protection for hospitality including pubs
  • Regional industrial strategies.
  • Patient capital and long-term investment.
  • Apprenticeships and vocational pathways.
  • Priority hiring and retraining for veterans.

⚖️ 8. Legal Rights and Duties

A civic, not individualistic, framework.

  • Local restorative justice options.
  • Environmental rights embedded in law.

  • Special protections for those who serve the community.
